The Authentic Connector: Jessica Moss’s Career in Curiosity

Meet Jessica Moss, our dynamic Business Development & Collaboration Strategist whose career journey brings a passion for connecting people and organizations to the Center for Innovative Leadership.

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Jessica moved to Greenville in high school before returning to her home state to attend Wright State University. After taking a fateful Horizons in Business course, Jessica decided to major in international business. This major allowed her to pursue what would become the most influential experience for both her personal and professional growth: travel. She spent a semester studying abroad in Australia and the following summers traveling across Europe. During these years of exploration, she developed a love of learning about different people and cultures.

Following graduation, her first job at a postage meter and mailing systems company taught her about business operations and honed her skills in process development. Although her role in the office grew, she eventually turned down a promotion to pursue her dream of living and working in a non-English-speaking country. Jessica felt that her time with travel was not quite finished. She moved to Prague and taught English for a year before moving to Costa Rica to teach English to business professionals. In these small group or one-on-one settings, she worked closely with her students, thereby learning about their way of life and connecting on both a personal and professional level. Building networks across these unique cultures solidified her belief in fostering organic and authentic connections; she discovered the power of investing in people.

After these years abroad, Jessica moved back to Greenville where she and her family have continued to grow. Her career spans diverse industries—from UPS Supply Chain Solutions to consulting for major corporations like Milliken and Michelin—and her strategic insights, along with her extensive network, have consistently driven growth and collaboration.

At the Center for Innovative Leadership, Jessica continues her impactful work by serving as a catalyst for community partnerships and outreach initiatives. She finds her business philosophy present in the Center’s programs; whether that be Better Conversations Every Day™ or leadership workshops, she knows businesses are people, and that collaboration and empathy play pivotal roles in the success of any group.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Jessica continues her belief in immersive community living through her extensive and impressive volunteer work. Her leadership roles in organizations such as Momentum Bike Club and her dedication to a local school’s garden highlight her commitment to making a meaningful impact wherever she goes.

Jessica's philosophy is simple yet profound: "How can I help?" This question embodies her approach to every interaction, whether it's connecting professionals, advocating for environmental initiatives or providing plants to classrooms. Her genuine curiosity and willingness to learn make her a trusted partner and advisor in business and community circles.

As Jessica continues to cultivate relationships and drive meaningful change, her journey remains a testament to the power of authenticity, curiosity and the enduring value of human connections.
